Su'Moon, The Sacred Town Settlement in Gaia | World Anvil

Su'Moon, The Sacred Town

Su'Moon is a settlement nestled on the Southeastern coast of Chanxji, within the Nation of Tausoomi. It is a quiet town of moderate population, and home to the Tower of the Moons. The settlement faces east mostly with a mountain range to it's back. The facing side of the city, is full of warm troipical trees and even cherry blossoms. When the Sun sets, the city comes alive with a sky full of lanterns.   The Guild of Lores has designated Su'Moon a world hertiage city due to it's natural beauty and age back to the Combine Empire.

Demographics

The Population is mixed between Eastern Humans, Kitsune, and Exa. The main population are humans, with the Kitsune coming close behind. There is also the occasional Isarian. They live together in neighboorhoods, with no prejudice.

Government

The Government is lead by the Local Moon Monestary nestled into the Tails of the Dragon. However overall, the city answers to the Empress of Tausoomi. The laws have it run as a psuedo-city state, however, it is an area of Military Strategic Position.   The population has no qualms over the Empire of Tausoomi and usually holds them in the high reguard.

Defences

With a Natural barrier within the Tails of the Dragon and a panoramic view of the Way of Tranquility. It is close to impossible to sneak upon the city without alerting Tausoomi Sentinels. With the rumors of Dragons also protecting the city, it has a psychological effect on those who dare wish it harm.

Industry & Trade

Tourism has become the main source of income for the city. However, farming and fishing were the traditional industries that made the town stay afloat. Exotic fish are usually fished out of the Way of Tranquility and the locally produced Saki sells well over seas and within Tausoomi's capital. Cherry, orange, and even Grapefruit plantations dot the open land around the city.

Infrastructure

Tourism was a recent boon to the city. The area is of natural beauty and the sunrises are known to be mind blowing. The Economy however is primarily farming and fishing. Any extra money made for the city goes into the restoration and preservation of the pre-ancient temples that dot the area.

Assets

There are rumored dragon nests in the city. However no one has actually seen any dragons save for the eldest.

Guilds and Factions

The Monastery of the Moon holds most influence over the city. They train in the ways of Monks with a Variety of Martial Arts. The city's age has solidified the union between the Monastery and the Townsfolk.

History

The Guild of Lores reports that the city of Su'Moon predates the Tausoomi Empire, founded back during the Pre-ancient Combine Empire era. Though this has not been proven to be true, most people have accepted that this is the truth.   The city is indeed ancient. It was once it's own City State in Prehistory. The Monastery of the Moon had a part to play in keeping the city stable and unified. The legends claim the city was orignally a shrine to the Eastern Dragons that are rumored to live in this region.

Architecture

The city's architecture is of ornate stonework and lumber. A far Eastern aesthetic similar to that of Japan. The theme of colors are usually a carnation pink, red and white, in Feng-shui of the Cherry Blossoms that blanket the city streets.   They have withstood the test of time, With the Tower of the Moons, standing tall over the city as the Monastary backdrops the settlement.

Geography

The city was built along side the Tails of the Dragon's eastern most mountain front. It has then followed the art of Feng-shui and has followed the concept since. Each building is allowed to be touched by the rising sun, where it sets above the tallest tower of the Tower of the Moon's three pagodas, where it finnaly sets behind the Monastary and the Mountains.   The region is just below Gaia's Equator, so it is usually warm year long, with warm rains and the occasional typhoon.

Natural Resources

Rich stones and Fertile lands make the farming ideal, as the tropical sea and the proximity of the Tsuntun Islands makes for a great fishing region.
