Fangs of Aurich (orr-ric)

The Fangs of Aurich are a large mountain range that seperates the Sundaru Desert from the rest of Niith. It is also within the realm of Pedtra, and is often seen as scars of the city's bloody history and it's war with the Alliance of Man.   It is a rocky, snowy landscape in which tempratures can dip into freezing easily. Formations of ice are also present.
"From the Tears of the Sea, to the Aurich Sea of Sundaru, this extremely rocky range is home to some painful Memories, and a land of sorrow, and remembrance of the War that Ravaged Niith not too long ago. Damn the Alliance of Man." ~Hishii Gaerti, Nozumi cartographer
The land is sacred to all Nozumi ,Pedtran and Auyrian. Due to the poor economy of Pedtra, the Fangs have fallen under a Volunteer organization known as the Snowguard. A collective of Nozumi who make it a mission to restore and maintain the thousands of Nozumi graves and memorials within the Fangs.

Geography

High above the dry deserts of Sundary lies a very rocky and jagged mountain range that stretches ocean to ocean. Known to have some crags within it, the Fangs of Aurich are mostly a rocky Highlands that is littered with remenants of a great war. Itis one of the two main Nozumi homelands of Gaia.   There are many frozen streams and even a ice sheet of what was once a fresh water lake that spread quite a distance across the flatter parts of the range. Within these ice sheets are said to be thousands of dead bodies and military equipment. Frozen Ironships are still on the lake this day, frozen in time rom the war that ravaged the land fifty years ago. Armor from both sides of the war are also stuck on snowy plains and icy crags all over the highlands.   From the distance the land has hundreds of massive rock sheets and stones jutting out of the ground like spikes. Where mostly massive iccicles have formed. The corpses of Alliance Bio-weapons are also frozen dead upon the snowy wastelands.

Ecosystem

The Land is Mostly stuck in a wintery and windy form of enovirment. The lands are thousands of feet above sea level. The air is thin, and the snow is almost constant. It is confusing to man how the Nozumi survived such harsh lands, and that would probably be related to the rodent backgrounds that the race has of it's feral-origins.   The sun almost neven is seen, and if it is, it is seen as a dim lighjt in the sky. The moons are never visible, unless on clear nights. Pine trees and pine forests cover most of the fauna in these lands, where a good chunk of said trees are charred remains from the Alliance War.

History

The Fangs of Aurich are a highland that has seen a frontline of a Great war that lasted twenty years. The Alliance of Man had conquered and slaughtered most of the Sundaru Desert, and came up upon the Nozumi stronghold of Pedtra upon the mountains. The seige lasted ten years of the war, with the Alliance finnaly breaking through the brave Nozumi defenders. Due to the massive losses inflicted upon the Alliance, Pedtra was spared Raze, howver they did execute the Leader of Pedtra, Overlord Ferrarra Rastir in a show of defiance or so the stories tell.   The battle of the Fangs had weakened the Alliance advbance from the north to a point where the Alliance offensive came to a halt within the Auyrian frontier of the Forest of Tears. The Humans who survived this war, call if the Curse of Pedtra, and it significantly had led to the defeat of the Northern Alliance Forces at the hands of the Nozumi-Human alliance of Auyri and the Free Cities.

Eternal Resting Grounds

There are many graves and memorials that dot the Fangs, Statues of Famed and legednary Nozumi warriors who sacrificed themselves in the defense of their people and the war. Within the abandoned foritfications, it is said remains are still found. However in more traversed areas, graves had been made, and statues built in Nozumi honor. Unfortunately, this project had fallen in maintenance when Pedtra itself, became a Tyranny, effectively reducing it to a shadow of it's former self, teh city has since became neutral with a treaty with the Guild of Lore and the Adventurers' Guild. In the end, within the past two years, Pedtra formally joined the New Gaian Restoration Order after the Dictator Fremeens Yoshugi passed away from illness.

Tourism

The term tourism here is a word that isn't best to describe the lands. it has mourners and those who wish to pay respects to resiliance of the Beastmen that was shown in the face of potential extinction. Ancestors and relatives of the fallen make trips here in hopes to find thier graves, or remains so that the Nozumi spirits in the region can finnaly rest, knowing that they have done thier job sucessfully.
"I once saw a young Nozumi couple make their way here, within the dense snows, in search of thier parents. They were very somber when here, the respect they shown to even strangers that fought along side thier fallen was uplifting. This is sacred land to the Nozumi of Pedtra, and even Auyri comes here to perform Silver Saenaces, a way to send off the dead or guide the spirits here to eternal rest." ~Snowguard Hally Anasvi, Nozumi Caretaker
