Confessors

They are the most feared secret police out there, Fanatical Isarians that swear undying loyalty to Emperor Sakraz Sesslin. They hunt as if it were a game and gleefully accept assassinations and killings.
— Suri Takma, undefined' Recollection

Confessors are fanatical Isarian headhunters, or secret police that swear an unwavering will and loyalty to the Sasslisian Imperium and Emperor Sakraz Sesslin. They are both masters of magic and martial skill and use it to deadly and effective efficiency to hunt their marks. They are ultra unorthodox, but have the same goal, to erase, to correct, and to silence.

They are deployed to skim around treaties that the Empire may have signed, and appear as zealots for Sakraz Sesslin's god-like status. Their tactics are brutal, using psychological warfare using illusion magic, necromancy, or meer words to mock, intimidate and dishearten their targets. They are often sent after Domingo refugees or escapees as well as Sasslisian AWOL Soldiers. They are primarily deployed against rogue Domingo. They are more frequently encountered within Myrryth, Kharis, and Chanxqi.

They absolutely enjoy what they do to a disturbing level. Leaving survivors, if they are lucky enough, spiritually broken and shattered. Some often took their own lives after an encounter with a Confessor or Confessor Squad.

Confessor Squads

Confessor squads are the active deployment of these confessors to hunt a target till death or breakage. They operate within the grey zone of any treaties or alliances Sassliss may have. They answer directly to Sakraz Sesslin or an appointed Inquisitor. These squads are made up of a few units to maximize efficiency.

  • 2 Isarian confessors
  • 2-4 Scalehounds
  • 1 soulbound Domingo Enforcer

They always hunt in pairs while commanding a small pack of scalehounds, a native predatory species found in the Kharis Jungle and Jade Jungles. They appear to be reptilian dog-like quadrupeds who were trained to track, maim and kill. The Domingo enforcer within these groups are often soulbound and marked, meaning they are bound to the isarian handlers and wiped of all freewill, usually beaten or indoctrinated to follow such. They are known to be abused and enforced by poisons or slavery obedience methods.

They taunt, mimic and mock their targets, attempting to shatter their will and to greatly wound their spirit.

They used one's deceased parents against their own son. Their voice, perfect, leading the man into a trap where he was dispatched with brutal and surgical precision.
— Abraquas Frontier Guard

They will use anything to break the minds or will of their targets, they will target anything to their past, their medical issues or simply their species. Though they primarily target Sasslissian assets, they are known to cripple non-isarian and non-Sasslisian people who get in their way or help their marks escape or fight them.

They went after me...my arm....my mother..my father, all because I offered to assist a poor domingo I stumbled across in the Acrecians. I...I can never forget their voice, their eyes...They let me live, I had to outsmart them, but I never felt fear and doubt so immensely before. I broke down once I got free, their words wounded me. I don't know of they are still hunting me out of spite...or for fun.

Cult of the Sunless

The cult of the sunless is a special order in which the confessors are trained and chosen from. They are devout fanatical zealots who serve The Emperor and his family up to and through death. They are all Isarian, who keep their Domingo as pets. They are chosen from hatching by the Imperial Inquisitors to be conditioned and trained in the dark ways of a confessor. This would be the only lives they know, they will never know their family, only loyalty unto death.

They are sent out into the jungles for a year, to survive, should they perish or surrender, then they are not fit to be, and are either sacrificed or enslaved.
