Benetian Confederation (Ben-neesh-en)
The Benetian Confederation is a Confederation of Free City States that make up the entity of Bentia. Led by the city of Unity. The Confederation of city states had voted to form the Confederation to be able to survive the continent of some major world powers.
The nation comprises mostly of the Benetian Forest Valley and most of the city states are built upon the Basis River, from Lake Barrow to the Estuary of Unity.
Structure
The Country is led by a Archduke that is elected by each of the City State's Barons. Depending on the laws of the City States citizens may or may not participate in the election process. Either way there is a set date in which each Duke or Baron must submit their vote out of a pool of candidates put forth by each city.
Each city state is run by either a Duke or Baron, depending if the city had a influential family that founded it, or if their leader was established by the common people. Its worth to Note that a Duke is elected by the people, as a Baron is a hereditary successor. The cities are known to flip from time to time, but all are bound to protect their land from outside threats.
Demography and Population
The Cities each have their own populations and dispersion. The dominant race would be humans wit ha mix of Dwarves and some elves. the occasional Beastfolk maybe found as well.
Unity
The capitol of the Confederacy. This city has no family ruler, yet it was established as a combined project between all the city states within the lands. They are a big city with a port, so members of many races can be found here. The Archduke or elected speaker of teh city resides here in what is known as the "House of Voices"Cous-LaBlanca
Cous-LaBlanca is a city that was in the family of the LaBlancas for generations. The city started as a massive plantation, and then grew along the Basis River. Castle LaBlanca is the seat of power here and it's Human family with ties to the Combined Empire. That being said the city is mostly human, with beast-folk laborers.Farrith
Farrith is a city that was known for its mining operations of copper and iron. It w as a human settlement orignally, until the dwarves moved into the Deepground Mines, to assist in resource gathering. HUman, halfelves and Dwarves make the majority of the races here, with the occasional sightings of Underfoot dwellers.Barrow
Barrow is the smallest of the major cities that make up the power of the Confederation. Situated on Lake Barrow and the woods around it, the city has mostly an Agrarian foundation. This has attracted Humans, elves and beastfolk to live within it's wilderness and landscape.Celevendoth
Known as the Gateway into the nation. The city sits along the foot of a mountain range. This has attracted Dwarves and humans to live in the highlands. The city is known for its mines and Tourism. Tourism being rather recent, due to the numerous vistas and pathways that sprawl into the surrounding Wilderness.Stronger Together, then Seperate
