Candlestick Maker

The Candlestick maker works in the candle factory within 3 11. They do not just make sticks but also pillar candles. The sticks are dipped repetitively while the pillar candles are made from moulds.

Where Does The Wax Come From

The wax comes from the Beekeeping industry of 5 5 to 5 11 in the city of Birdencaster.

Manufacturing Candlesticks

Candlesticks are manufactured using the dipping method in this method a string is laid over a dowel of wood. The string is dipped repeatedly in the wax producing two candles per wick. Each frame from which the dowels are connected produces 16 candles.
Due to the manufacturing of these types of candles, they will be tapered due to the wax running down the string and later the wax.

Method

A frame is used by a level 3 candlestick maker draping a 67cm (26.37 inches) string over two dowels of wood 1cm thick of the frame this is then lowered down into hot wax to make candles.

Manufacturing Pillar Candles

A tray is used to make these types of candles. The tray itself can be locked in the down position or the up position. On the down position, wax can be poured creating the candle. When the candle wax has been set, the upsetting is used to make the candles rise.
When the candle has risen it has a hole in which the wick can be inserted. The excess is removed and used in the next batch of candles.
The Tray can produce 64 at a time, it is the number of 8 squared ensuring that once counting the number of trays you know you have that multiple of 64.

Method

A large metal jug is put into water to heat up the wax is put in the jug to melt. Once the wax has been melted the tray is clicked onto the down position and the wax is poured onto the tray filling the channels for the pillar candles. When the Wax has solidified the tray is put in the up position releasing the candles. The candles are then cleaned of excess wax this wax is put into the jug. The now “clean” candles have their wax put through the hole left from being in the tray. The candles are then boxed and sold to a Warehouses .

• Ensuring the levels of wax are sufficient for manufacturing both kinds of candles

• Packing

Level 2

The Level two candlestick maker makes the pillar candles.

Level 3

The Level three candlestick maker makes the candlesticks.
