The Elemental Storm

In the planet of Amaranth, the mysterious catastrophic event known as the Elemental Storm forever changed the course of its history and almost vanished the entire population. Nobody knows what caused it in the first place, although there are rumors and legends circulating about a Mystical Group of Priests wanting to create a new God-fearing society and ended up summoning something far bigger than they could handle.

MANIFESTATION

The Elemental Storm took place on Amaranth through a cosmic phenomenon. The skies were lit with various hues as five comets ran across the skies, each representing an elemental force: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Spirit.   Fire: As the firy red comet approached, its flaming tail took on an deep violet hue, and upon collision a purple color, annihilating everything in its path. This purple fire spread rapidly, formimg 150 ft tall Fire Whirls leaving mystic trails in the air as it consumed its surroundings.   Water: The Water comet's collision brought an abrupt hailstone rain. The Cyan hailstones hit the surface of the planet destroying most food sources, flora and fauna that happened to cross its path, freezing most lakes and rivers and seas while later on causing floods that reshaped Amaranth's geography.   Earth: The Earth comet turned out to be a massive, glowing green boulder that tore through the planet's crust. As it collided with the terrain, it unleashed shockwaves of green energy, destroying both the planet's Moons and finally merging with it, unearthing new kinds of minerals but also raising the overall gravitational pull and sea level.   Air: The Air comet, upon crashing, caused huge swirling hurricane-like vortexes of vibrant blue winds, destroying whole cities in one pass. Their captivating hues held Amaranth's residents stunned as they were being devoured by the swirling vortex.
Spirit: The Spirit comet emitted a golden glow upon collision and an eerie-out-of-this-world Scream was heard, revealing to Amaranth's inhabitants their final destination. Those touched directly by its light were vanished instantly. Some believe they were teleported to a better place, while the ones who happened to have their eyes open, experienced visions of great wisdom and ancient secrets, but also turned blind and mentaly unstable, and were left speaking a different language than that of their mother tongue.

LOCALIZATION

The Storm's consequenses affected various regions throughout Amaranth, (except from the Far North Side, rumored to have been the lair of the Mystical Priest society), creating diverse and inhabitable landscapes that abide the laws of physics.   Each Comet left its impact on specific areas known as Elemental Focal Points. These locations became sources of intense magical energy, attracting Adventurers, Pilgrims and various Extraterestrial beings seeking to take advantage of the amplified elemental powers. However, being unable to restrict access to those areas as they take up the majority of the planet, had its consequences, as the forces can become uncontrollable upon triggering, accompanied with a high level of Radiation, causing a ton of health problems or even immediate death to the curious or careless visitors.   A few regions of Amaranth became Dead Magic Zones. Within these areas, conventional spells but also electronic devices failed to function. The only thing that worked was hand operated conventional mechanical machines. Such areas remain covered in mystery to this day, similar to the Bermuda triangle, attracting explorers seeking to understand the enigmatic phenomenon. But those who remain for more than a few hours in the Dead zones, rarely get the chance to come back alive.

Only a few places remain untouched within the borders of the two mentioned states and are mostly still flooded with water so access is limited and very dangerous to navigate, unless one has a Amaranthian compass to showcase the changes in the magnetic field and the passing from one area to the other. The biggest untouched area is located to the Far Northern part of Amaranth turned into a theocratic City-state and has concentrated the majority of the remaining population, (innkeepers, miners, merchants, and fortunetellers)

CONCLUSION

The Elemental Storm will forever remain a pivotal moment in Amaranth's history, showcasing the raw biblical power of supernatural forces. As adventurers explore Amaranth's newly formed/destroyed terrain, they must navigate carefully because the mystical allure of this planet hides a ton of resources but also a lot of unknown dangers caused by the Storm's aftermath.
