Midlander Ethnicity in Freelands | World Anvil

Midlander

The Midlanders were a group of people native to the areas surrounding Lake Argent, who later spread all around the continent of Crownmark. They are the precursors to cultural groups found around the great lake today, such as the Freelanders, the Marshers, and the Ghardaise.

Their greatest contribution to modern society was their language, Middish. It, or variants thereof, is the official language of Greymarsh, the Freelands and Watolla, as well as serving as a trade language for the rest of the world.

The nobility of Greymarsh tend to still refer to themselves as Midlanders.
