crumble & tumble Myth in Frale Tides - Time of the Blue | World Anvil

crumble & tumble

the bridge stands tall,
crumble tumble
  the stone grows tall,
tumble crumble
  the frale, they feel dull
the humane, break their skull
the cities destroyed, like the play house of a broken doll,
to the crumble tumble, here comes marching in, the maul

Crumble & Tumble or crumble tumble is a Frale children's hand clapping game.   It is only played in the Frale Districts, as its based on an old myth preached by a hallucinating Frale woman under the effects of Frality, Kennaer Hedtonge who was jailed and left to die. During this time, riots of Frale were an all time high, it was a turning point and many groups started to form and attempt to free her. She was under the affects of Frality, where she had little control of her mind let alone what she was babbling.   She was never released, but groups like POWER, KIN, and SURVEY had the event as a large turning point, and changed the relations between Humane and Frale.   The song came from the children in her family reciting what she had said, and after some forgetting and replacing this is the modern chant of what Kennaer prophesied.
"Not crumble, but CRUM - BLE!
Wiggle them as you move them down.
WIGGLE!"

How to play:

  • Upon saying crumble or tumble, they cascade they fingers downwards from the top of the heads to the shoulders.
  • Upon saying dull, they freeze, stretching their hands out and placing it around their face.
  • Upon saying skull, they knock their head some way, a palm to the side of the head is popular, as is a fist to the center of the forehead.
  • Upon saying doll, they pose like a doll would, normally hands outstretched is a casual pose, the more unnerving the doll they represent the more popular however.
  • Upon saying maul, the most popular action is taking both hands and making a clap that comes close to "biting" the other player.
