Mechanics & Inner Workings
Snake Farm
Once the customer sits down, a large bowl is placed on the ground beside them and the snake brought before them to verify its freshness and venomousness. The drink itself is just blood with the meat sometimes being prepared as a cooked, or uncooked, snack.Manufacturing process
Draining
The snake's fate is the same whether it was caught in the wild or raised on a farm. Once the snake is securely restrained, it is beheaded and the dark blood drained into a vessel. The rest of the snake is skinned and diced and cooked as part of a side dish; with the exception of the snake's still-beating heart thrown into the fresh cup of blood. The snake's gall bladder can also be drained into conventional alcohol to chase away the previous taste.Significance
Superstition
Much is made of snake blood as a cure for all poisons and touted as an elixr for immunity to their venom. The heart is as chewy as you would expect, but it was otherwise forgettable.
