Carnas Grian

" The Third Sun, though least enthused among them, founded perhaps the greatest city of the whole Isles! Carnas Grian! Never would you find such a debaucherous Holy City to coin and carnality as that blemish on The Mother's face." -Excerpt from "The Legend of The Southern Suns: Tales of The Sunstone Isles and it's Origin" by The bard Stezik of Incendale     Carnas Grian is the only major city of Grian Isle, The Third of The Sunstone Isles. A sprawling metropolis that joins the sands at it's southern tip, and the landbridge to Isle Eguzkia on it's northwestern border, Carnas is seen from the sea by miles thanks to its' Crimson architecture.   In a region known for its' chaotic lawlessness, Carnas Grian is perhaps the most chaotic and lawless being the only Isle in Sunstone with no formal guard or militia. Instead competing criminal organizations control sections of the city and compete constantly for more control, all under the watchful eyes of the Elven Pirate Queen herself, Sylceran Lia'Don The Third Sun.   If you need to hire an assassin, sell cargo that was taken under less than legitimate means from powerful nobles, or even find a servant who's wage you wish to avoid ever contributing a copper dragon to: Carnas Grian would be the first place to come to your mind.

Government

The City is owned solely by The Third member of The Southern Sun Pirate Lord: Pirate Queen Sylceran Lia'Don.  The city has no formal guard, instead various guilds of thieves, merchants, mercenaries, and all manner else of deviants each run their own stakes in the city paying tribute to The Pirate Queen for fear of her personal "Crew" bringing the will of Syl Li upon them.

Industry & Trade

The Spice and Fine goods trade dominates the isle, as "secondhand" cargo plundered from wealthy northerners make their way south to find safe buyers.   The Slave Trade also has some presence as decreed by The Southern Suns.

Guilds and Factions

The Starved Ones- A title self-chosen by one of the largest thieves guilds on the isle. Urchins, cutpurses, muscle, you name it The Starved Ones often will be the organizers. They maintain a Guild Hall in the North of the City though the precise building is disguised and only members know the way.   The Fire Brides- A Powerful Band of Assassins who are known to call The Crimson City Home. Though much of their work is outside the Isles, and few would disclose their affiliation, their Orange and Red Eyes are constantly felt by denizens of Carnas Grian and they are believed to be loyal to The Pirate Queen.   The Silver Suns- The Most commonly found Merchant Guild in The Sunstone Isles, many of the biggest traders and merchants will use services certified by the Silver Pin worn by members of this Merchants guild signifying them as a friend of The Isles. Known as the most "Main-stream" of the merchant guilds in The Crimson City   The Dread Mok- A very shady Guild of Herbalists and Alchemists who are known to pay good coin for the bodies of the departed which they...re-purpose somehow. Some merchants of Reagents and Poisons will claim allegiance to The Dread Mok but only if they trust you well, or don't mind the suspicious eyes of the room fixated on them.   The Chained Men- The Recognized Slavers guild based from Isle Eguzkia. They will occasionally have human goods for sale in The Crimson City, but due to the Cities decentralized nature are often more likely to do business on the other Isles.    The Night Bloom- A guild of clerics, druids, and sex workers who run a series of Brothels across The Sunstone Isles. Night Bloom Brothels are widely regarded as the cleanest and most expensive Brothels in The Isles.
