The Castle Ward

Castle Ward is one of the eight wards that make up The City of Waterdeep . It is considered to be the political heart of Waterdeep and is located in the center of the city.
The ward gets its name from the large castle that sits in the middle of it, which is the primary residence of the Open Lord of Waterdeep. The Open Lord is the ruler of the city, and their palace is an impressive structure with high walls and a moat. The castle is a symbol of the power and authority of the city's government.
The Castle Ward is also home to many of Waterdeep's government buildings, including the City Watch headquarters and the Palace of Waterdeep, where the city council meets. Additionally, the ward contains many of the city's wealthiest neighborhoods, with large, well-maintained homes and manicured gardens.
Despite its wealth and power, the Castle Ward is not immune to the problems that plague other parts of the city. Crime is a constant concern, and many of the city's less fortunate residents view the ward with envy and resentment. Nevertheless, the Castle Ward remains an important part of the city's culture and history, and it is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Waterdeep.
