Paragon's Gaze Organization in Forge Islands | World Anvil

Paragon's Gaze

The official religion of the Feline Dynasty and the catfolk at large. It dates back to the old world and the early catfolk civilization.

Structure

The Venerated Three consist of the leaders of the organization, and must always have three members of the Paragon's Gaze at all times. Those three are responsible for all major discussions within the religion. There are also local bishops and priests.

Culture

Most catfolk, and all who belong to the Feline Dynasty, follow this religion since it's an integral part of catfolk culture. Intensity of belief and practice varies, but the majority of its followers prays and otherwise interact with the Paragon's Gaze regularly in their everyday life.

Public Agenda

The Paragon's Gaze offers shelter and guidance to their people, mostly catfolk, though other peoples are welcome into their ranks. Offering financial support, lodgings for work and connections among their followers are freely given through it, however that is only a byproduct of their motivations. Truth and therefore survival is their main goal. Seeing the world for what it is through their god, learning of the secrets it holds and being able to adjust and survive are often described as the Paragon's Gaze true calling.

Mythology & Lore

The catfolk and the Paragon's Gaze only have one god, often called the Overseer. While they believe that there can be more than one depiction or instance of their god's appearance in the mortal world, only one great being is responsible for most of creation of the world, one who sees the whole truth. The Overseer is depicted as more of a cat than an catfolk, though always large enough to fill temples or tall enough to stand upon mountains.

You had me at the catfolk. Love the org itself, glad to see you are not just sticking with the trope of cat people being very 'independent!' Great article, would love to see some quotes from people who interact with the Gaze!
