Vacated Lair in Dustlow Mountain

It is peculiar to me as to why Vicarion would leave his lair in the Dustlow Mountains. It was his perfect base of operations as he served under Irator. At least, so we were told by his captured lackeys. Getting up there is a perilous journey of its own.

That is why Sen and I believe it best to investigate his old lair. I suspect that there could be something still there convinced him to change paths. To get there safely, you’ll want a Candescent to help guide you along the way.

Exposition

Within his lair, Vicarion sought a new master after Irator failed him in his retreat from the goliaths. Sidresk approached him, offering a new master. He even provided an Aversal tome, hoping Vicarion could come up with a new approach to confront Ornsen’s underlings within Dulnmoor.

Vicarion used the tome and found strange new insights on using power from the Averse and left his lair behind to better serve his new Overlord.

Adventuring

Mad Disciple

Rushing down a mountain path is a mad disciple, Parelt. After encountering a whistler, the Candescent have been trying to discern how to heal his mind. Parelt got loose and is trying to "run from the creatures."

Luminous Monastery

Amlen leads the party into a warning of the weird creatures Parelt saw. It took Grandmaster Enhet to take down one of those mostly by his lonesome. Should party request a guide up those mountains, they request that the party will have to defend themselves as the guide will not intervene in any combat.

Whistlers in the Mountains

Two Whistlers skulk around the mountainside. They are tasked by the Curator to ensure that no one intervenes in his searching around the mountains for a tome Vicarion had taken long ago. The creatures attack on sight, turning the party away.

Vicarion's Lair

Vicarion's lair is where the Curator is perusing. The party catches up to him as he is making final inspections before settling his search.

Cave Drawings

Within the lair, there are carvings on the lair on the story of Vicarion. A vician that had served for many years under the thumb of another. By killing him, becoming the stronger demon in Irator's ranks, he was a prospect for a champion. Thus, he moved on to prove himself even further by seeking conquest against the goliaths with the help of others who sought to join him.

In a battle around the mountainsides in Hulstead, Vicarion fell deep down a ravine. Hoping to use the power of his master, Irator did not listen and left the "weakling" behind. Sidresk saw differently and believed he could be repurposed. The vician then escaped to the Fell with his followers. While in his old lair with his loyal orcs, Sidresk provided Vicarion an Aversal tome, curious to see how he could utilize it. Vicarion discerned with his lieutenants that a means of mass communication would make his army even more lethal in coordination via telepathy.

Thus, through an Aversal obelisk, they strived to create a wretched entity with a massive head to coordinate his army! With this plan in mind, he descended from his lair to better follow Sidresk. Within the mural in his lair, is artwork of where he resides in Bleakwood: A fortress within the Fell.
