This strange marble is striped in scales, fur, and feathers called an animarble. A bag of 6 animarbles weighs 1/2 pound and costs 200 florens.


You can use an action to throw one animarble up to 30 feet. When the object lands, it transforms into a creature randomly determined by rolling 1d20. The creature is unaligned as it’s lost and confused of its situation and acts accordingly to its nature.

The followers of Ornsen within the Reverie use these lanterns within marching processions to help guide any spirits back to the care of their god so they may find peace in the afterlife.


This lantern functions as a regular hooded lantern. It has 5 charges. When a creature you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, you can expend a charge and use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the roll.


As an action, you can expend a charge to shine radiant light on the creature. It must succeed on a DC (11 + your Proficiency bonus) Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, it takes 3d6 radiant damage and is blinded for 1 minute. The creature can attempt to make the save again at the end of its turn. On a success, the creature takes only half damage. Fiends and undead have disadvantage on the saving throw.


When the lantern no longer has any charges, it loses its light. The lantern regains 1d4+1 charges at dawn.
