An Uncommon Magic Item
The rod has 10 charges and regains 1d6 + 4 of its expended charges daily at dawn. Should all charges be expended, the rod glows until it has a charge. This rod innately glows 5 feet of dim light. This can be hidden when put in a sheathe. While holding the rod, you can use an action to extend the brightness up to 30 feet of bright light and 30 feet of dim light.
As an action, you can expend 1 charge to throw shimmering light at a target. If you have spellcasting, make a ranged spell attack using your spellcasting ability. Otherwise, you make a ranged spell attack with 3 + your proficiency bonus to hit. On a hit, the creatures takes 2d8 radiant damage. You can up the damage by 2d8 for each additional charge, up to 3 charges, you put into the attack.
