Snack Spots
We all know this: you’re out in town, away from your home, it’s raining and you have nowhere to go - maybe you just missed a bus home, maybe you’re waiting for a friend who hasn’t showed up yet - and maybe you’re even getting a little bit hungry or thirsty. You don’t have enough time or a good chance to go to a bar or a restaurant, and you wanna stay put in a spot that you can leave immediately when needed. But what could such a spot be? Look no further, but come to one of the convenient snack spots that you’ll find everywhere in our world!
Where to find them?
Well, you shouldn’t be having too hard of a time finding one of these spots. They’re usually scattered around convenient locations in towns, especially close to bus stops, train stations, in parks, near town squares, and any spot particularly full of people. They're open 32/8 and anyone is welcome to stop by at any time.
You will also find these at rest stops along the long roads, mainly utilized by caravan families, but also other travelers. They are also very popular in Fairy Gardens where there are more fields and forests than actual towns and villages and these come in very handy. In Fairy Gardens in particular it’s easy to find yourself in trouble away from civilization, and these always have phone signals and a paper bird vending machine so you can call out for help.
What are they?
These are sort of snack bars, where you can sit down, get a snack, read a magazine, wait out a rain shower (or even buy an umbrella from a vending machine), go to the bathroom real quick, or whatever else you may need to do.
Most of the time, these have no employees working there, apart from cleaning, restocking and maintenance stuff that kinda comes and goes. Here you only have vending machines with snacks, drinks and sometimes magazines, crosswords or even paperback books, tables to sit down at, and a toilet.
In certain areas, town centers and more populated areas, you may see some staff members regularly present, and a lot of the time the owner of the store next door will be responsible for this snack spot as well. Here you may see a bigger variety of vending machines, offering more kinds of foods or even other items one might need on their day out. These can range from common household staples such as milk, eggs, cereals, items such as digital currency cards, umbrellas or even different souvenirs and trinkets, in East and West T@Ö#Å3 you may even find a vending machine with drugs, and things related to them.
The ones on the rest stops are usually bigger and offer a wider variety of items, usually even some basic clothing items such as underwear, even t-shirts, pants, shoes or hats, and personal hygiene products.
What do you do there?
It should be pretty clear by now that these spots are open areas where you can come and go as you please, and whatever you need to do. You can come here to buy a snack or a drink, you can eat it here or take it with you, you can even bring your own food from elsewhere and eat it here. You can come here just to read a magazine or even a book, or you can just sit down for a bit and play a game on your phone to wait for your next bus, or whatever you’re waiting for. Maybe you’re even at home, baking some bread when you realize you’re just an egg short, then you can come down here to grab a box of eggs as well - if you’re close enough to one of these spots that have egg vending machines of course. If you ever find yourself out on the town and suddenly gotta go real quick you can come here just to use the bathroom as well.
