Fioré (Fee-yor-E)
Geography
Fiore is roughly the same size as Earth, if slightly smaller. It's geography is just as varied while also allowing for more unusual locations as a result of magical influence. It is comprised of 5 continents, with Avinik being the main focus and setting, situated with Trekhom at roughly 40 degrees North latitude.
Climate
The climate of Fiore is comparable to Earth's climate. Seasonal and geographical considerations are equivalent to what one would expect on Earth.
History
Fiore was created during an event called "The Taming." The Prime Deities worked together to shape and control the elemental chaos, a mass of energy created as a byproduct of their creation by the Creator. Initially a single instance of creation, during the events of The First War, due to the death of a greater god (Prime Deity), reality was fractured, and the multiverse was created.
Fiore's history can be broken down into 4 distinct ages:
Before The Taming covers the immeasurable span of time before Fiore's creation.
The First Age spans from Fiore's creation to the conclusion of The First War, a struggle between the gods of Fiore and the Firstborn, gods created and lost to the void before the Prime Deities were created.
The Second Age, commonly referred to as The Age of Arcanum or The Mystic Age, was a time of unchecked magical development and expansion by the races of Fiore by utilizing the excessive ambient magic left over from the Gods and their war, as well as the leylines of magic that run through the planet. The Second Age ended with catastrophe as the impressive magics were turned to war, and the gods took the back the knowledge of leylines and how to use them as a way to ensure it did not happen again.
The Third Age is the current age of Fiore and began with dragons stepping up in an attempt to lead the mortal races through this darker period after their collapse. For good or ill depended on the individual dragon, but after roughly 700 years their rule began to slip and global war broke out once more. Evil dragons looking to rule and conquer, good dragons looking to guide and advise, and mortal races that felt timeless beings should not hold such direct power over them and rebelled against both led to a three-way war. After the war draconic presence was greatly diminished until roughly 1000 years later when an attempted summoning of the aspect of Tiamat awoke them from their slumber and they began to once again have a prevalent presence in the world.
