The Endless Ocean

Geography

Any maps that depict the endless ocean are drawn on presumption, as charting the ocean by means magical or mundane is impossible. It gets its name not from its size, but from the fact that traversing it is akin to sailing into the ether. The endless ocean is home to a plethora of creatures and monsters that call its deepest depths home, monsters that tend to be highly territorial and attack ships on sight. The hardiest adventurers and heroes are at the whims of the such terrifying creatures. Even if they are capable of besting them in combat, the chances of the ship surviving the encounter is incredibly slim. The denizens of the deep however, are not the most dangerous aspect of the Endless Ocean. A never ending maelstrom of arcane power broils over the surface of the Endless Ocean. This effects mundane navigation, confusing sailors, causing storms, and obscuring and distorting astral way points. The maelstrom also effects magical means as the arcane surges interfere with any spells through the area. This includes teleportation both out of and through the Endless Ocean.

Krakens, Leviathans, Sea Demons, and other monstrosities call the Endless Ocean home.
