Lord/Lady/Layrd (Lohrd / Lay-dee / Laird)
Qualifications
This is a granted title used as an honorific which indicates station for the bearer within the Noble Body. It is granted to those who contribute heavily to resource coffers, perform some specific duty for the Keep, or who retire from civic service given a minimum of five years.
Benefits
The Noble Body membership comes with a reduction of taxes which generally represents a significant bump in gross income and allows the title bearer an equal seat in the Body, which holds a not-insignificant amount of authority over city committees and operations.
Nobility often comes with a parcel of land, though this is more customary than inherent in the granting.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Nobility can be stripped at the behest of the High Regent.
