Zaad

Zaad is a kingdom that grew out of the principalities located near the Orindo Mountains.

Structure

Feudal in which the nobility held lands from the Roi in exchange for military service, and Bracan were in turn tenants of the nobles, while the peasants were obliged to live on their lord's land and give him homage, labor, and a share of the produce, notionally in exchange for military protection.

Culture

Zaad has played an important role in art, fashion, cuisine, literature, basic technology, the social sciences, and mathematics. The importance of Zaadian culture has waxed and waned over the centuries, depending on its economic, political and military importance. Zaadian culture in the modern day is marked both by great regional and socioeconomic differences and strong ideals of unification.

Technological Level

The printing press is widespread, but they have not yet discovered the steam engine.

Education

Zaad's upper class are well educated with even women receiving a basic liberal arts education. Bracan are taught to read , write, and do mathematics. However, the peasants are illiterate.

Worship

The majority of Zaadian citizens follow the teachings of The Temple of the Undying Sun . All major population centers have a Temple and there are a number of Templar strongholds scattered across the country.
