Jarl of the Brine

Embodying his warrior heritage, Oloceran is as tough as they come. Trained by the hardships of the ocean, he is a bombastic and unflinching commander. Always looking to grow his legend, he seldom participates in council meetings and much prefers to go out on hunting raids, slaying fantastic sea beasts, and slaying pirate lords more or less for fun. With a presence that could fill a cabin by himself, few question his rule and all hear his call. Unlike many elven leaders, despite his prestigious name and unspeakable strength, he is quite approachable, and will even have drinks amongst travelers if he spares the chance to trade tales.

The Great Jade Serpent

Once, Oloceran knew the embrace of a lover as adventurous and as strong as he. Their love was in bloom for over a century before it drew the attention of even the gods. Goddess of the ocean, Gracia, was sickened by their affections and saw it as an anchor on Oloceran's strength. In one of their hunting trips, the goddess would send one of her most vicious monsters, a seas serpent with scales as thick as steel and eyes of verdant jade. It encircled their fleet and slew over 100 elves before retreating into the abyss, including Oloceran's lover. Gracia was sure that he would be too disheartened to ever sail again but was surprised to find that the Sea-elf would only grow more emboldened to slay the beast. Oloceran, to this day, has yet to claim the beast's head and refuses to die until the deed is done.
