Qhukbat
Basic Information
Anatomy
Qhukbat are a bipeadal humanoid with seven limbs, four arms, two legs and a long tail. Oili and ilio Qhukbat have some differences in their anatomy, with oili having spikes that grow from thier head, backs and tails, whereas ilio have horns on their heads and long spikes on thier elbows. Oilio are a second divergent group with unique anatomy, combining traits of both, having horns on their heads, with spikes down their backs and tails, and shorter elbow spikes.
Genetics and Reproduction
Qhukbati would be classified as hermaphroditic in Human terms, but Qhukbati have no term or concept for that. To them sex and reproduction is the same regardless of their gender identity. When two Qhukbat choose to reproduce they do so sexually, via internal fertilisation.
Unlike Human or mammalian reproduction on earth, both parents have the same reproductive cells, not a egg and sperm, but what the Qhukbat call a Milii, or Life Cell. The two Milii of the parents combine internally in one parent, a choice made before reproduction starts. The host parent gestates the child for 10 Nohivis months before giving birth.
Growth Rate & Stages
As a Qhukbati grows up their gender becomes present in a physical change around their early adolecence, 13-15 years old, what Humans would call puberty. Before this Qhukbati children don't have any physical gender identifiers. When going through this puberty, Qhukbati children grow the identifiers unique to their gender, subconciously choosing it.
Ecology and Habitats
Qhukbati are a very adaptable species, much like Humanity, being able to inhabbit most area's of their world. Nohivis, much like Fate, is classified as an Earth like planet, one that could sustain life for Humanity. As such it has caused the Qhukbati to evolve very similarly to Humanity, though with some differences.
Nohivis has a weaker gravitational field, 5.67ms², resulting in Qhukbati growing much taller than Humans. The atmosphere also has a lower nitrogen but higher oxygen count, about 67/30, with a 2% count of an unknown element on Earth, now classified as Nohivigen by Humans, Qhukbati know it as Uloix. The presences of this element in their atmosphere gives them their blue skin tones.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Qhukbati are an omnivorous species, consuming both plants and meat.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Qhukbati as a species have a natural affinity to the cosmic magic of the universe, a trait absent from Humanity and Solar, but common place for the native people of Boreal. In the Qhukabti this manifested as a extrasensory ability of telepathy. They have the five sense's that Humanity know as common place, sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell. They have a heightened sense of hearing, link to their horns and spikes. Vibrations in the air able to be picked up by those parts faster than their ears can.
Civilization and Culture
Gender Ideals
Qhukbati have a unique ideal of gender than that of Humans, not being tied to sex or reproductive organs. A Qhukbat subconciously chooses their gender when they go through puberty. Qhukbati instead refer to themselves as Oili and Ilio. Qhukbati have a third gender the Oilio, that combine traits unique to each gender.
Throughout Qhukbati history the three genders have shifted gender roles, and each Qhukbati culture has their own.
Average Technological Level
Qhukbati are classified as a Type 3 civilisation, having faster than light travel, and are known to have a colony in a system outside of Boreal or Solar, they do also have the start of a colony in Solar, living alongside Humans on Mars - this is not enough to class them as a Type 4 civilisation yet as they do not have access to energy generation from stars.
Lifespan
110-120 Years (Nohivis Calender Cycle equating to 1 Nohivis Year = 2.3 Earth Years)
Average Height
6'-7'8"
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Qhukbat have skin tones that range in various shades of blue.
