Frosthalt is a small city located in Ograna, close to the Dragon Tooth Spires. The city has existed for many years, and is a prevalent political force on the continent of Glainia.
Frosthalt is the main location of the Lucerna Academy, who rule the city from their great castle at the center of Frosthalt. The Lucerna Academy, or just 'The Academy' as it is colloquially known as, act as the governing body of Frosthalt. The castle and it's walls are made from red clay bricks which are manufactured locally within Frosthalt

Demographics

The population consists out of 60% humans, 20% dwarves, 15% halflings and 5% other races. Occasionally a dwarf might venture to Frosthalt to expand their knowledge on blacksmithing, but they soon leave to practice their trade more freely in another area.
The population is mostly middle-class, with the upper-class mostly consisting out of high ranking members of the Lucerna Academy.

Government

The Lucerna Academy rules with an iron fist. They fund and supply The Wick, who are wrapped around the Academies finger.

Defences

The city has various watchtowers set on its perimeter, to keep watch over the city and stop any intruders. The permiter is also lined with a large wooden palisade wall, around 12ft in height. The local city watch is called The Wick. The guards are equipped with magical devices that are supplied by the Lucerna Academy. These devices include magical ensnaring nets and electrical rods, used to subdue intruders or unhappy denizens of Frosthalt.

Industry & Trade

The city is known mostly for its production of large steel rods and beams. Iron and coal is mined from the Dragon Tooth Spires and then carefully crafted into steel. Big, raging fires are kept alive by vast amounts of coal, and as such a perpetual smog has formed over Frosthalt. The continuous clanging of metal can be heard throughout the city at all times, as magical blacksmith machines forge steel beams and rods. These machines are made and maintained by the Lucerna Academy, who sell them at a subsidised cost.

Points of interest

Entry into the city is only allowed by a pair of lifts, set at the cliff upon which Frosthalt is built. These dingy lifts are pulled up via large chains affixed to four polar bears. These lifts are run 24/7 although it might be difficult to get the attention of the lift operator late at night. As such, a small tavern is located at the bottom of the cliff called Salvation.
