Session 9: Entering the Academy Report
General Summary
Entering into the portal to gain entrance into the academy. The group quickly approached a student named Norman. While telling Norman they were just visitors trying to see if the school was a good fit for them or a relative, they were quickly interrupted by a teacher by the name of Trickery. The old tiefling professor, wanting a more peaceful morning walk, wrote up a quick visitors pass for the party and assigned Norman to give a tour for the day. The party came spent some time eating food in the cafeteria before meandering their way to the dilapidated tower beyond the statue maze. In the tower, they met the disgruntled professor, Bolbec. He seemed to be preparing for a card game when the characters broke the door down. He quickly started the conversation with a statement about not wanting to know who they were or why they were here. Additionally, he wanted the party to make their way to the top of the tower because he believes something they would find useful was up there. At the top of the tower, the party finds the spirit of a young girl who seemed to be bound to the location. She mentioned that she cannot remember her name or identity, but cannot get her favorite part of the statue maze out of her head. In their investigations, the party learned that the girl is the child of the headmistress and that the statues she referenced earlier guard her name. Coming upon the statues that guard her name the party finds them come to life and after a short conflict come out alive. Each statue on the path was labeled with a name, had a number of candles burning beneath them, wielded a unique set of gears.
1st statue labeled Marjory four candles burning wielded a bow and arrows
2nd statue labeled Ethan one candle burning wielded a sword and shield
3rd statue labeled Walter four candles burning wielded a glaive
4th Statue labeled Matilda three candles burning wielded a staff
5th Statue labeled Shiva five candles burning a large multiarmed/headed statue wielded a glaive, a bow and arrows, and 2 longswords.
