thum kohldur
the great dwarven city located in the morndin alps . the city is nearly completely undergorund as it used to be a emergency keep. now it has become the home of the dwarves on stormrend and the greatest producant on iron, mithral and adamantium
Demographics
this city is the center of dwarven society on this continent and therefore is mostly dwarven in it's populace. there are however also some other races living within the city. the city has a 86% dwarven populace. next to this there is a sizable group of gnomes in this. these gnomes are from a group of rufugee's from a gnome city that was destroyed long ago. the population of gnomes is about 7%. about 3% of the city is also elven this is because of the good relation between the dwarves of thum kohldur and lynoras that grew because of the gradual trade that was done over the years.
Government
the laws of the city are written by the 5 houses of thum kohldur each one of them having there own selected part of the law they keep up. the cooperation between the family's is held up by the belhon. the iron lord or Belhon in dwarvish is together with the 5 houses the leader of the city elected by the main 5 family's of thum kohldur. the elected iron lord rules for 20 years untill a new iron lord is elected this can be the same as the previous and also often is.
Infrastructure
the city has a great infrasturcture as the roads are directly build out of the stone. there also is a system of transporting water though the city with a system of small reservoirs on each level of the city that taps from a nearby lake.
