Lieutenant Dava

"Everybody is just trying to survive out here. Some people are just.. Nicer about it than others."

A field medic assigned to the Portland expedition at the behest of Col. Briggs. Lieutenant Brie Dava was a Boneyard native who gained most of her medical expertise and her passion for saving lives from her parents, who were both members of the Followers of the Apocalypse. The organization, and by extension Dava and her family, were thrust into proximity of the NCR when she was a young girl so it was only natural that much of her rebellious youth was spent yearning to become a soldier. She officially joined the service of the New California Republic at the turn of the century out of a desire to provide the aid of the Followers to those who needed it most urgently on the frontlines of war.
Being a medic and a practicing observer of Followers doctrine does not make Lt. Dava a pacifist. Far from it in fact, her flare for precision and steady hands has afforded her a skill with long-distance combat and an affinity for laser weapons in particular. It was this combination of skills that saw her rise swiftly through the ranks of the NCR, under the watchful gaze of her bootcamp instructor turned commanding officer Ward Briggs. She often plays the part of "good cop" to the Colonel's temperamental rule and the two share a high degree of respect for one another greater than one might expect of soldier and commander.

Dava had intended to bring her knowledge from the Followers with her to Portland to start a new branch of the organization. Unfortunately she was killed just outside of the Scald, in an encounter with mercenaries that had been tailing the party since Weed. What ultimately became of her is, at present, unknown, as her body disappeared during a period of time that the rest of the group is unable to remember.
