Diesel Punks
"Those who fear the cold should be careful not to be consumed by the fire"
First encountered siphoning the last dregs of fossil fuel out of a derelict Red Rocket gas station on the outskirts of Portland, the gang of surly individuals in scrap metal and pilfered firefighter gear identified themselves (mostly) only as the "Diesel Punks."
Some smooth talking managed to convince the trigger-happy Punks that the party was not looking to steal their precious fossil fuels, only the fusion core in the gas station, and both groups ended up walking away with exactly they were looking for. According to some more of their loose-lipped members, the Punks swear allegiance to an oil baron in the area known as Diesel. The base of his operation is the Happy Valley Oil Refinery, to which the party has a cordial invitation should they ever find themselves in need of gas. Just tell him that Tony sent them.
Each member of the fold sports a robust set of burn scars from their brutal initiation ritual, in which a prospective Punk must run the Trident through the smoke stacks of the refinery and make it to the other side alive. It doesn't seem like very many survive the ordeal, and those that do consider it a great triumph of strength. The Punks control the only remaining fossil fuel stores on the west coast, and as such they hold a great deal of power in Cascadia. Those who don't fancy freezing to death have little choice but to brave the Trident to earn Diesel's favor and the right to trade for his precious fuel. This show of strength is also considered a mark of honor among the common Punks, and those who obtain it are often considered honorary members or at least off-limits to their raiding parties. Sometimes.
