762A-C: Rivals

Not everyone encounter during life is going to be the character pal. There are those who will covet what the character has, who is jealous of what the character is, and who seek the same goals that the character seeks. These people become competitive rivals, unfriendly foes, or even deadly enemies.
Instructions: To gain a picture of the characters rivals, questions must be answered. Who is the rival? Why is he an opponent? What are the rival's feeling towards the character? What does the rival seek to accomplish? Start with Table 762A and follow the directions. Record info as you go.
Role play: The rival is essentially a plot element for the GM to use as opportunity to create and continuing bad guy to foil the characters activities. To develop the character's attitudes toward this foe, think about how you felt when you discovered someone didn't like you, especially if you liked that person.
762A: Who is the Rival Instruction Roll a D10 and match against the table below to select who is the character's rival. Rival is usually of the same social status as the character. Roll a D6 on a result of 1-4, the social status is the same. On a result of 5-6, find the rival's social status on table 103: Social Status. From here: Go to Table 762B: Why an Opponents? Gender note: If the gender of the rive is not predetermined then roll a D6: High a female or Low a male.
