761: Companions

Use Only if Directed here by another Table
This is the hero's companion, his trusted right hand man/woman, the faithful sidekick who has joined the character on his adventures. The companion may be a bumbler, a whiner, a comic relief, or a serious hero with their own destiny to fulfil. Possibly the character himself maybe merely the companion's faithful sidekicks?   Instructions: To develop a picture of the character's companion, question must be answered. Who is the companion? Why has he joined up with the character? What are the companion's feeling towards the character. what does the companion seek to accomplish. Start with table 761A and follow directions. Record information as you go.   Roleplay: The Companion can either be an NPC controlled by the Gm or another player. He (or she) should not be just "cannon fodder" Give the companion a personal Goals that he can work out during adventuring. It may be that once those goals are accomplished the companion parts company with the character to seek his own ultimate destiny.  
761A: Who is companion   For creating a companion stats suggest using the Alt rule for sidekick on Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, page 142   Instructions: Roll a d10 and match the results against the table below to select the character companion. Select companion's cultural level. on table 102 and his social status on table 103. From here: Go to Table 761B Why?   Gender Note: If Gender of the Companion is not predetermined, then roll a d6. A result of 1-4 = same as the character. A result of 5-6 means a companion of the opposite sex.

  Instructions: Roll a d10 and match the results against the table below to select why the companions exists. From here Go to table 761C: What are his feelings?  
 

Table 761C: What kind of Guy

  Instructions: Roll a d10 and match the results against the table to learn the companion's outlook on life. From give the companion a name and develop him as NPC sidekick. Then roll on table 114: Parents and NPC's to round out the companions background.
