539 Enslaved!

Use Only if Directed here by another Table
It is an unfortunate fact that sentient being have an acquired tendency to treat other sentient being (particularly those who fit the "not like us" Category as if they were property. To be bought, sold, and bred like livestock. No culter level has a monopoly on slavery. Primitives and decadent alike own slaves. So long as those with power can force their will upon those with out. there will always be slavery.
DM: This is a gritty reality of the world but is also traumatic to people in real life. Nobody should be forced to play a slave or experienced traumatic things in a game that is for people to have fun. Why gritty backgrounds do make for good stories especially as they overcome and beat back the negative experiences. A DM should make this optional and the player should be able to reroll the event they brought them here.
Instructions: For clarity the instruction are subdivided by topic. Read all instruction before continuing.
  • Owner: Select the owners races on Table 101: Character race. next, select the owner's Gender by rolling a d6 1-3 male. 4-6 Female. The roll 1d10 to select culture. if the result is 7 to 10 the owner culture is different the the character. Go to table 102 to determine culture. Socal status. roll Roll a d20+83 roll and compare on 103 Social Status.
  • Duration: role a d6 to determine how long in years the character is enslaved. Enslavement begins at the age of which the character event that sent them here. Enslavement that began as childhood may overlap into adolescence. And adolescence may overlap adulthood. Enslavement may increase the "adult" years prior to character's adventuring career.
  • Events: To determine the number of significate events that occur during the period of enslavement, roll a d3. For each even, roll a d10 and match the result against the table below. if you are requested to use another table; go to that table and follow the instructions found there, record the information and return to this table until all rolls are complete. For each roll you may select the age at which these events happen.
  • Occupations: Slaves work. This mean they preform and occupations. if a slave does not already have an occupations that would be useful to his owner (Gm Discretion) the slave is taught a new occupation at rank 1 ability that apporatrate to the culture and need of the owner.
  • Escape or Freedom. An event that indicates the character escapes or is free by his or her owner occurs only at the end of the period of enslavement. If a character does not roll event that ends the enslavement peiro roll a d4 on the table below to determine how it ends.
Roleplay: imagine what it would be like to be someone's property, to have no control over your life, to realize that you exist only at the whim of your owner. What would it be like to know that your children aren't yours, that they could be sold like livestock at the next slave auction. Is the character a "good" slave or strong-willed trouble maker familiar with the painful end of whip? What is the character's attitude towards slavery upon being freed? 1d20
