Stay still. Any movement will disrupt the quiet that surrounds Nyctoflicide Forest. Tall, lifeless trees penetrate through the thick fog that surrounds the area. It seems like its branches are reaching out for prey.
Infamously known as The Dark Forest, this land is crowded by the whispers and rumors of others. They say that when a fairy goes in, they'll never come out. These ominous tales make it a place that many fear. Not enough fairies are brave enough to find out if the stories of The Dark Forest are true.
But I'll let you in on a little secret. Contrary to the rumors, the Dark Fairies who live in Nyctoflicide Forest are rather peaceful. They keep to themselves and live harmoniously in gothic-style abodes, confident in their strong community.

Environment
- The dark, foggy atmosphere makes it hard to traverse through the terrain. Towering and barren trees grow branches that look like claws. It almost seems like they have screaming faces etched into their bark, though the dark may be deceiving you.
- Spiderwebs and creepy crawlies frequent Nyctoflicide Forest. Crows, ravens, black cats and bats scatter about.
- Though only some can see them, ghosts roam around.
- The Victorian Gothic-style architecture spans from large mansions to little unsettling huts. These structures are strewn about.
Culture
- Dark Fairies are proud of their kind. They embrace death, the decrepit, the ghoulish, the creepy, the weird, and whatever else one might find uncomfortable.
- The locals practice darker forms of magic that are considered taboo, or even unheard of outside of Nyctoflicide Forest.
- Being fascinated with bones and the dead, fairies might adorn themselves with the bones of deceased animals. They partake in seances and rituals, hosting ceremonies and festivals to honor the dead. Even the occasional masquerade is held in the grand mansions of certain fairies.
- The Dark Fairies enjoy playing into the rumors, taking it as an opportunity to use their powers to spook travelers. But it's all in good fun!
