The White Plume Three

A trio of magic weapons held by the wizard Keraptis in White Plume Mountain. They were stolen from noble families of Waterdeep who had managed to clam them in the past. house Amcathra had Blackrazor, house Eltorchul owned Wave, and house Whitehelm was in possession of Whelm.

In 1493 DR the thought long dead wizard Keraptis stole these weapons and placed them in his dungeon of White Plume Mountain. The noble famies banded together and put out a joint bounty for adventurers. After a difficult dungeon crawl The People Who Do Jobs For Money, with the exceptions of Drottor Clayfist and Leorna Fenjor who were attending to other maters, were able to retrieve the sentient weapons from the active volcano. They then retuned all but Blackrazor to the families as they had sold it to Lord Richard Ashendale.

As they attempted to escape two efreet named Nix and Nox, under the command of Keraptis, attempted to stop their escape. After a challenging fight they managed to defeat both efreet and went to leave when Keraptis himself moved to stop them. The timely intervention of Richard stabling him in the back with a flying scimitar saved the weakened party from having to fight the archmage. They then sold Blackrazor to Richard as payment for him saving them.

All three weapons are sentient and have distinct personalities. They are all also extremely powerful magic weapons with each having a +3.

The first weapon they retrieved was Wave, who was hidden in a air pocket in a boiling lake and guarded by and extra big giant crab. It has a general love of the sea and particularly sea gods. This extends to the point that if one is not a worshiper of a sea god it will not let itself be attuned to. Luckily Quill worships the sea god Deep Sashelasm, as well as the rest of the elvish pantheon. Wave is just fine by this and does not demand monotheism from its wielder.

The second saved, Whelm, is a expertly crafted dwarven hammer forged by the Dankil or the Mightyhammer clan. It was guarded by the dwarven vampire Ctenmiir, one of Whelm's former masters. This vampire's actions resulted in the death of Saanahfell and the burning of Damkos. The hammer holds a fondness for its clan and prefers them to other wielders, but any dwarf who fulfils its goals will do. Whelm's goals are the protection of dwarves and the destruction of giants and goblinoids. If its wielder does not preform these actions it will forceful break the attunement and insult them a lot, a true dwarven weapon.

The last rescued was Blackrazor a greatsword that hungers for souls. This weapon was guarded by and oni in an aquarium, it made since in context. This weapon is the most chatty of the weapons with stronger telepathy than the others not requiring physical contact to communicate. It is a firm nihilist with a belief that all life sprung from negative energy and will one day return to it, it just expedites the prosses. It has a strange kinship with the other two weapons having spoken with them in White Plume Mountain. It wants the three of them to be wielded together, despite hating the tendencies of the other two. It was sold to Richard due to its personality confliting with the party.
Trivia

>The three don't necessarily like each other but have a strange form of kinship and like to fight together.
>Their is no leader of the group, its more like Wave keeping Whelm and Blackrazor from arguing and come to an agreement.
