Level 2: Arcane Chambers
The second level of Undermountian is the Arcane Chambers. A vast and confusing section of the Underhalls containing a number of magical threats. Upon entering this level adventurers are entering Undermountain proper. The layout more confusing, the enemies more dangerous, the gibbering mouthers gibberyer, the treasure better. This level is the first real part of Undermountain to explore, with most of it's secrets unlooted due to most adventurers being scared off on level 1.
Most of the threats to find here are failed apprentices of Halaster Blackcloak with a few factions and traps thrown in. Near the entrance is the The goblin market former domain of Yek the Tall and a good place to find Garfield the Deals Warlock. Just past that are a pair of quarters for some prospering apprentices, one congaing a used spell sigil, the other being a bizarre electric necromantic laboratory. Past there is a abandoned mine containing abominations against nature, aberrations if you will. Many nothics make their home here along with a gibbering mouther and a mezzoloth, local drow mage Rizzeryl makes great use of a few of these nothics. Lower down was a outpost for the The Xanathar Guild before it was destroyed by a band of adven-People Who do Jobs for Money. Further north is the counterpart outpost, also destroyed by the People Who do Jobs for Money with their leaders heads turned over to Rizzeryl. The remaining member of the The Fine Fellows of Daggerford can also be found on this level.
