Cut Me Own Throat Gibbins
One of Waterdeep's oddest criminals is the bizarrely, but appropriately, named Cut Me Own Throat Gibbins. He is one of the most well known con men in the City of Splendors. This would usually be a problem for a con man, but not for Gibbins. This is due to the fact that he is a doppelganger and quite a good actor.
His standard schtick is to work by himself, or in a small group of other doppelgangers, to pull of a con. The roles he plays the most are nouveau riche, nobles, or other people of wealth. He tends to play the fool that could be easily taken advantage of. Some con man attempts to con him, and then he springs the trap and cons the people coning him right back.
When found out he tend to resort to holding himself hostage with his catchphrase "Stop! Or I cut me own throat." This tends to work either due to the people trying to take him being confused and surprised, them actually needing him alive, or him actually going trough with it when they don't stop and cutting his own throat. Its all an act of course, the knife is fake and has a fake blood repository in it. He also shifts his neck to look like a nasty cut. Then when they leave thinking he's dead he just stands up, walks away, and moves on to his next mark.
