Episode Six Recap Plot in Faerun | World Anvil

Episode Six Recap

The party continues delving into the Doncastle, seeking out a fragment of the Hammer of Tyr. They complete a brief respite barricaded into what appears to be quarters meant for foreign dignitaries. They explore part of the castle dungeon, encountering two trolls and some undead that appear to be non-corporeal until attacked. After encountering some rot grubs digging through refuse piles, and burning them off quickly, the party decides to leave many of the undead locked in the dungeon as they were found.   The party then returns to the Moonwell, as the moon has risen full, and Noah has the knowledge needed for the well to heal the party, and recharge his magical rod. The party successfully heals up, and Noah's rod is not only recharged, but is transformed in the waters of the Moonwell. It now is covered in mystical ruins, which only Noah can read. As they linger in the Earthmother Temple, Noah and Zirkin note the stars have changed, and are no longer recognizable. There is also the smell of the ocean in the air, as if it is very close.   The party then pushes on into the castle. They re-enter into the giant hallway full of paintings. Using the map Zirkin found at the very end of episode 4, the party explores the Armory. After much lockpicking, they find treasure, many armaments, and armor, including some silver swords, arrows and a dagger. This is oddly fortuitous, as the party is about to need them...   As they are pillaging the armory, the party hears a large group enter the castle. The party closes the door to the Armory and barricade themselves inside with a massive wine cask. There is suddenly a pounding on the door..."Limp D, open the door, we know you're in there!" shouts the group outside the door. There is a pause, and they grow more inpatient, pounding and demanding. The leader identifies himself as Limp D's "old friend Clovis." Suddenly there are violent screams and sounds of torture as the group of men transform into werewolves. They burst in through the barricaded door, and a battle with 19 werewolves ensues. An amazingly well placed shot, with an explosive arrow, by Alecdora struck the leader's head and brought him down rapidly in the battle; the rest were killed quickly with the help of magic. The werewolves seemed to only be damaged by magical or silver weapons, with the notable exception of Limp D's battle axe. Limp D, Alecdora and Alfrid were all bitten by the werewolves. After the battle, the party all felt very faint for a moment. They then noticed those who were bitten had been treated somehow with wolfsbane and belladonna bandaged into their wounds.   After the battle, the party headed into the feasting hall and kitchen, finding many notable items, fresh food, notably garlic and onions, whispers and talking coming from somewhere else, yet in the same room, and hot stew and lamb cooking over the fires of the kitchen. A secret tunnel out to the outdoor smithy is also found. Both rooms are illuminated by burning lanterns, freshly lit.   The party then ventured to the second level, entering the library above the kitchen. It is full of books written in a foreign tongue....what lies beyond the door ahead??
