Alix de Birkin
Lady in waiting (and effectively seneschal) to Hawise of Skipton. She is of mixed English, Danish and Norman descent.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Alix is the daughter of Adam de Birkin and Maud de Caux.
Her father, something of a social climber, secured her a position as lady in waiting to Hawise of Skipton, at that time wife of William de Mandeville. Alix soon found herself besotted with the unorthodox Hawise, and their relationship soon became romantic.
The pair moved to the relatively isolated castle at Skipton in 1190, after the death of Hawise's husband and her mother (from whom she inherited the castle and its honour).
Despite the political necessities of Hawise's rank - including a second marriage to William de Forz which Hawise resisted but was ultimately forced to accept - the pair have maintained their relationship discretely.
Alix is devoted to Hawise's young son William.

Sexuality
Alix is both devoted to and attracted to Hawise. Their relationship is romantic and physical. She has not considered her sexuality beyond that.
Alix de Birkin is a fictious member of the Birkin family of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
