Demigods:
Demigods are the half human, half divine offspring of a deity and a mortal. Demigods possessed near god-like powers in addition to having a mortal soul, making them incredibly formidable and dangerous. Many Demigods were later ascended to Godhood.
Demigods were common during the Silver and Bronze Ages, but after the
Exorsian Civil Wars the Gods swore the
Divine Truce, which forbade the birth of any more Demigod children.
Champions:
Deities are capable of blessing their most devoted followers with incredible divine power, marking them as that deity's champion.
A deity can only have one champion at a time, and champions maintain their status until death, until a new champion is chosen, or they are stripped of their blessing.
The most famous of Champions is the Oracle, the title for the champion of
Apollo, who was blessed (or cursed) with the gift of prophecy, allowing them to see cryptic visions of the future.
Champions are uncommon and are usually only seen in times of great turmoil like the
Exorsian Civil Wars.
Divine Avatars:
A Divine Avatar is the temporary physical manifestation of a deity. An Avatar is created when a divine entity takes temporary control of a willing mortal’s body, inhabiting it and wielding their divine might through it. This process can only be undergone by devout worshippers of the deity in question.
Divine Avatars are only created under extreme circumstances as the process puts an extreme strain on the host, as wielding such power quickly burns them up from the inside, with most mortals dying from the experience.
