Deimos & Phobos - The Hounds of War

Deimos & Phobos are the Gods of Fear. Deimos is the embodiment of Dread and Terror while Phobos is the embodiment of Panic and Rout. The brothers are both militant and terrifying deities who accompany Ares into battle. They are also known to punish those who desert from battle or from their duty.   Because of their reputation the brothers are usually only referred to by epithets, such as “the Hounds of War” or “the Sons of Ares” as to avoid invoking them and drawing their attention.   Both Deimos & Phobos were the Demigod children of Ares, both born to the same mother, with Phobos being the oldest of the two brothers. In life they fought wars in Ares' name, claiming honour and victory. When they eventually fell in battle they were ascended to godhood to wage war at Ares’ side.   Deimos & Phobos are usually worshipped alongside Ares, commonly before battle.   Domains: Dread, Fear, Panic, Rout and Terror.   Symbols: Broken Weapons or Shields & a War Horn.

Apperance

Deimos & Phobos are usually depicted as they were in life, both young, muscular human men with dark skin and curly black hair. Deimos has short hair and is bearded while Phobos has longer hair and is beardless. Both deities are commonly depicted in red war paint or helmeted, usually wielding a weapon and a shield.
