Bugbear

Bugbears are a species of humanoids that originate from the Feywild, they are a member of the Goblinoid family, sharing a common ancestor with Goblins and Hobgoblins.   As the legend goes the original Goblinoids were one of the Feywild’s many carefree trickster spirits, but one day after a prank gone wrong they were banished from the Feywild by Queen Titania. Lost, they were taken under the wing of Maglubiyet (Nemesis) who guided them to the Material Plane and set them on the path of revenge, becoming their divine patron.   Bugbears are the most reclusive of Goblinoids, they are rarely seen in multicultural humanoid settlements and can most commonly be found in wild places, living in small Bugbear communities and avoiding contact with other peoples. They are known to be proficient hunters, specialising in stealth tactics to catch their prey.   Like all Goblinoids, Bugbear offen face prejudice due to their association with violent goblinoid tribes, though evidence suggests that Bugbear tribes rarely attack unless provoked, preferring to stay hidden.
