The Gullet is the remains of a City built into the cliff face of a lagoon. With an automatic magic defense system that no one knows how to control

The last outsider Trader disappeared while exploring the lower city. It is believed he was trying to find a safe way to the power source. He had told people that he had found some information that may help them if he could get to the source.

Mostly human-looking population. With lots of domestic pets and automated helpers call Servitors. The domestic pets are known to be intelligent but lack the ability to speak.

Industry & Trade
The city is live off the land and lagoon but there are not enough people to keep everything running. Winston is now there trader.
Infrastructure
Most of the city's old automatic amities still work. With running waters and a good sewer system. there are also automatic furnaces. The city has a magic power source that no one has been able to look at due to needing to pass through a poisoned section of the under-city to get to it. so for the automated helpers have kept everything running without problems so far.

Each step was originally built along district lines, but with the striking population, only the top 4 were being used.
Now that the city is trading with the clan. The bottom dock step has started opening up again. Along with the next step up for people that what to move to The Gullet to stay.

Large amounts of old magitech mostly not working now due to no power stone.. large docks and storage rooms with cold storage rooms for fish and meats. There are rumors that a large ancient library still exists.

Eclipse Association A guild of local magic users that are trying to help everyone.
History
The people believe that they are descended from the original slave class of the city plus some people from Eclipse Association that moved there. They think the domestic animals are descended from the original owner's Familiars as everyone is sure that the city's masters were powerful magic users.
It is also rumored to be the location of one ancient key to a lock for the great prison magic doors.

Architecture
The city is built on 8, 20 footsteps going back into the cliff face. With each step being 50 feet deep. The back wall of the last, highest steep being 350 feet deep into the cliff and 140 feet above the lagoon. The lowest step is at the lagoon level and is a mile wide. The top step is half a mile wide.
The ancient city is carved into the cliff face forming a cave. The stone of the city is very hard and has lasted the test time. but the stone the buildings are built out of does not look to be local to the area. There is also a lot of marble and column frontage to the more high-class buildings built into the cliff and step faces. The top 4 steps have this frontage. The top step has a 50-foot space before the roof of the cave.
That top step has the main ornate entrance to the undercity. with a large building front carved into the cave wall at the center. On either side of the building are 50 foot carving of the The Original 10. 5 each side with the closest ones being Hendursaga God of Law on the left and Mammetun Goddess of Chaos on the right. However, the rest of the statues on Hendursaga God of Law side are elemental ones also known to be chaotic and the ones on Mammetun Goddess of Chaos side are the consorts also known to be lawfull.

Geography
Above the city's cliffside but still within the shield are extensive farmlands. Unfortunately, the city needs people to farm them. This leaves the farming to be done by the automated helpers, that are not very good farmers, without someone telling them what to do.
Natural Resources
Extensive Copper and tin mines allow magitech bronze to be made in automatic furnaces. Fish from the lagoon and fresh vegetables from the farms help to feed the people.
