Government:
The highest position in the government is "The Salton - The First Stone of Ill", who is elected by "The council of 24 knights". The Council also appoints all regional Governors and the Defence Chiefs. The Council appoints its knights when a vacancy arises from either the military or the leading noble families. Usually one of the Council Knights will become the next Salton. Only Male citizens can participate in the governing process.
Sandtown:
Sandtown is the most important trade centre between the Eastern Karnak Sea and the Petchenegs Sea States to the North. It lies strategically halfway between the East Karnak Sea and the Nearing River. Surrounded by the Karnak Desert, the lighthouse of Sandtown illuminates the night sky so that trade caravans can travel at night keeping the light always in view. Since the lighthouse was erected over 300 years ago the town has solidified its control of trade in the area. The markets of Sandtown are said to be some of the best in the world.Structure

"The council of 24 knights" meet 4 times a year usually and operate as a more long term planning body. The council is made up of 6 factions. The 4 provinces have 4 members each usually from the prominent noble families in the area, The military has 4 members and the trading guild has 4 members.
Demography and Population
The population of Attawapiskat is about 220,050 at the last census. The main population group is Liptic People which makes up about 80% of the population with the other ethnic groups of the Karnak Sea region making up the largest other population groups.

The country is very flat with most of the country being a waterless desert. The only areas suitable for crop production is the Nearing River Valley and the coastal areas near the Eastern Karnak Sea.

Military
There is no large standing army as such, only a small division of professional security and order keeping staff. However, each of the main tribes in Attawapiskat has a standing army of tribal fighters that are called upon if required to secure the nation. Each of these armies would back up each arm of the local noble families which are indigenous to the various tribes.
Religion
The main religious sect in Attawapiskat is The True Way which is centred on the Koi Peninsula and the Eastern Karnak region. The Sect was established by Profit Mort Fazzee. After a falling-out with the religious leaders from Desert Port in 14205, Mort Fazzee moved his followers to the Small Desert Oasis of Sandtown to set up their own religious city. It has subsequently grown into the major trading and religious centre in Attawapiskat.
Foreign Relations
Attawapiskat has relations with all of its neighbours but the main focus of its foreign relations is directed to the other nations on the Nearing River Valley and those on the Petchenegs Sea, as these nations purchase or provide most of the goods traded over the Attawapiskat trade routes.
Trade & Transport
Trade is the most important part of Attawapiskat life. The whole country is based around supporting the cross desert trade routes and profiting from the business of trade. The trade markets of Sandtown are some of the largest in the world and are open 7 days a week. This is due to the high volume of trade and the fact that the desert environment reduces the likelihood of the trade routes being weather effected and reduces spoilage because of the very dry storage environment.
The trade is conducted by desert caravans, usually with over 100 camels in a traditional trade caravan.
The trade is assisted by the lighthouse of Sandtown which because of its great height shines a light each night to guide the desert caravans towards the desert oasis, therefore helping their safety over the desert where roads are not possible because of the shifting sands.

Legislative Body
There is no Legislative Body as such. The "Council of 24 Knights" issues "Ordinances" which substitutes for the work of the Legislative Body.
Judicial Body
The "Council of 24 Knights" nominates the judges in the 2 arms of the Attawapiskat judicial system. The first arm is the "Trade Court" that deal with all trade matters. The second arm is the "Citizens Court". All non-citizens must conduct legal matters through the Trade Court.
