The Liptic people are considered the masters of the desert. Their customs and values have developed to cope with this harsh environment.

Common Dress code

The Liptic people traditionally dress in loose-fitting robes of a light colour. The headdress, both for women and men is always worn in public and usually white or red or gold in colour. These are sometimes decorated with gems.

Art & Architecture

Traditionally the Liptic people were nomadic and their architecture still has many of the traits of this early style in it today. They like to use the fabric sail as a cover for their shop fronts and markets as well as many of their streets. The cities now have often a light colour tone to them either be it white or yellow. However, their municipal buildings tend to be brightly coloured.  Art is again either transportable like a rug or painted fabric or solid stone or clay when used in their temple installations.

Coming of Age Rites

Once every 2 years traditionally there is a "Gathering of the Clans" in a desert valley 2 days ride from Sandtown. Here the clans meet for a period of 1 month to arrange marriage unions between the different clans.  The Gathering occurs over the coldest month of the year.

Funerary and Memorial customs

The men of the Liptic tribe are traditionally cremated on a woodpile made of Palm fronds or Olive Trees. The tradition for the female members of the Liptic people is to entomb the women in the burial caves of their maternal family.

Common Taboos

Usually, Liptic people do not travel alone, and it is looked on as not propper if they do. They usually always leave the compound in groups of 2 or 3 for protection, a leftover from the older days when clans often wared with each other.
