Despite obvious similarities with lizards, dragons are not reptiles and possess feline characteristics; behavioral movements, warm-blooded, eye composition, and some bone structures. Those of cat descendant, or cat owners, can determine some of a dragon's mood and behavior based solely on their tail movements. These observations are one of the many reinforcing theories about feline and dragon relation.

Genetics and Reproduction

It is unknown how many eggs are in a dragon's brood, however, many dragons have accounted the number of eggs varies by sub-species. The dragon's shape-shifting abilities have allowed cross-breeding with humanoid and monstrous races including devils and angels. Dragonkin and dragonborn are common races, however, dragonborn is considered more of a status among dragons that can be revoked.

Ecology and Habitats

Each type of dragon has a preferred habitat and their preferences can be found in other sources. The observations of dragons residing within cities can be found here. Most residing dragons can be found in or near their respective affinity environment. Large streets and open court yards are two common characteristics of a dragon residence. The most famous of these is the Cuvar of Torch Key Wharf , who frequently walks the streets and resides inside the open yard castle.

Dietary Needs and Habits

A dragon's diet varies based on region and preference. Experimentation with a willing dragon has yielded the results that they are capable of eating almost everything, however, an adverse reaction to high-class sweet pastries was observed. When questioned about the reaction, the dragon was not forthright with an answer and threaten to leave if questioned farther. The dragon did divulged, 'There are few dragons amoung their kind who can eat such foul things.'

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

As for their senses, which varied slightly depending on the species, dragons were superior in most ways to other creatures - like any predator, they had exceptionally acute senses, which only increased with age. Dragons had excellent depth perception and comparably good peripheral vision, able to see twice as well as a human in daylight; they had great night vision, and were able to see even when conditions had no light to offer, though not in color.   Dragons could also pick up scents very well, utilizing both their sensitive nose and forked tongue, much like a snake. Their hearing was on par with human hearing, although their minds could filter what noise it hears. Of all its senses, a dragon's sense of touch is the only one to decrease with age, due mostly to the development of thick, hard scales. Dragons were capable of blindsense, the sense in which eyes, ears, and other senses were used to detect invisible persons or objects.

Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Common within the regions they occupy and previous occupations. Based on the ever-evolving Common language, it can be assumed that any dragon, who speaks fluently, occupies a city or mingles with humanoids.   True Draconic, the language among dragons differs from dragonkin. A dragon is the only source of teaching as any detailed recording of the dialect has gone missing, or been destroyed. The dragons deny any involvement in the destruction, or disappearance, of these documents. True Draconic is the first language to harass magic and is a necessary component for higher spell-casting.
