Master Griz
Background and Role in Our Story
Master Griz himself is unsure whether his genius level of intellect was a natural occurrence or magical, but either way Griz has never really found any affinity with his simple-minded and vicious kin. As soon as he could, Griz left his home and pre-decided life of robbery, kidnapping, marauding and cave-living for one of learning. Having faced much prejudice in his life, Griz still maintains a positive attitude and from having to live outside of towns due to his social pariah status (despite filing down his teeth and maintaining excellent hygiene) he obtained a vast knowledge of plants, herbs and chemicals. He worked for a long time on his magical abilities and in particular his potion brewing, before heading to Thrantium to attempt to enter the Mage's guild of Viseria. Within the guild Griz has never felt more at home (although there still are a lot of stares from newer students). In 678VD, Griz was promoted to become a Guildmaster and simultaneously the Head of Potions. One of his own additions to the guild was the cultivating of is garden, as a place teeming with wild and wonderful flora from all over Everon. It functioned both as an experiment in horticulture and as an exceedingly useful source of ingredients. Besides, Griz prefers the outdoors. In our tale, Master Griz sat on the council of Guildmasters that judged Jackob Aar and Terry Tinkle as they entered the admissions for the Mage's guild of Viseria. Later, Master Griz instructed Jackob in how to brew a healing potion after passing his second admission test. Bonding over their love of plants, Jackob's potion skills and shared experiences of prejudice, the pupil and Master struck up a relationship based on mutual like and admiration. Master Griz was also exploring the garden at Count Merillion's ball and is a member of the council of the city of Thrantium.Appearance
Griz is small and green and resembles most goblins in terms of physique with his small frame, green skin and red eyes. However, Griz has filed his teeth down, maintains excellent hygiene and has grown a decent amount of hair so as to more closely resemble the other races, hoping for better acceptance. He almost always wears his goggles on his head and is more often than not bandaged up from some experimental tonic, poultice, chemical mixture or bomb.Personality
Likes and Dislikes
Master Griz loves plants and the outdoors. He is a maniac for potions, bombs, chemistry and alchemy. Griz also maintains a real taste for extremely raw meat, just like most goblins. Griz dislikes deforestation, destructive activities and anyone that hurts his garden. He's also not a fan of people treating him badly based on the fact that he's a goblin, which happens a lot.Personality quirks
Griz can get incredibly excited by plants, flames, chemistry and other things, to the point where he does an uncontrollable jig. Though normally incredibly jovial, Griz has been known to give in to his feral side when he sees red.
