Virghan Empire

"Look at this land. Isn't it obvious that the gods have forsaken it long time ago? Nothing grows here without hard work and the weak will perish. And look at it's people. A broken husks, torn apart by constant wars and feud for what little water and pastures can be found. We have been beaten down again and again and again. They have given up. They are born, live and die never knowing of better. Never dreaming of better. But no longer. We take them, we unifie them and build ourselves a better world. And our defiance can be heard trough lands and heavens, and even gods will tremble. For people of Virghan have had enough of misery. It is time we take what we deserve."

The public agenda of Virghan Empire is to ensure the survival of inhabitats of continent of Virghan.

    Assets

Virghan Empire has a large army under its command. However the Empire lacks any kind of natural resources and trade.

    History

Most of the residents of the Virghan have traditionally lived in small nomadic communities that move around when it is needed. There have been couple of established cities, but most of them have been long forgotten. Clashes with different clans are common and fight over water and suitable environments for cattle are highly sought after by various groups. Residents of Virghan are no strangers to bloodshed.   Nowadays whole Virghan has been united as a single Empire under rule of their dragonborn emperor, Julian Ironwill. With his small tribe he began to conquer other clans one by one. For those who bent the knee he gave mercy and privileges, but those who would oppose even after Ironwill offered them peace, they were put to sword.   In the beginning of 13th Millenia Ironwill had conquered most of the Virghan, but it was only then he realized why all attempts to create higher culture and more stable civilization on Virghan had failed. The land was not bountifull enough to produce food for all the people and larger cities where impossible to sustain.   At that time, on the first Beacon of 13th Millenia, Grogun send his messenger to Ironwill. The god of war had been pleased of Ironwill’s achievements thus far and proposed him a deal. If the land of Virghan could not sustain its people, why not take the people somewhere else, mainly to continent of Marghuin. Grogun promised his aid should Ironwill continue his conquest further. Ironwill had sworn that he would prove to world that mortals could survive without gods, and when messengers from Ras the Judge had been sent to him in the earlier days of his conquest, he had driven them away earning the ire of god of justice and law. But if Ironwill wanted to keep up the empire he had built and make sure that his people could live without slaughtering each other like they had used to, he knew he needed help. Charging to Marghuin would not be as easy as fighting small nomadic tribes although he already had a great army at his disposal. So Ironwill accepted Grogun’s deal.   Until year 17 of 13th Millenia Virghan Empire has yet to launch their full assault against lands of Marghuin, but there are whispers that attack will come soon.

    Demography and Population

The population of the Virghan Empire is largely divided within the continent of Virghan. People still live mostly in their small nomadic tribes. Few bigger cities have been established under Ironwills goverment.

    Military

Virghan Empire posesses a great army. They consist of tribal warriors subjugated by Ironwill and his troops. The soldiers will fight where they are told even though many of them have been enlisted in the army against their free will. They have little or no education in battlefield tactics and are more often distrustfull for members of other tirbes in the army. They are also poorly equiped when compared to armies of city-states of Marghuin. What virghanian army lacks in discipline and equipment, they make up in numbers and ferocity.

    Religion

The gods have abandoned continent of Virghan, and thus most of the residents have abandoned gods. Some small communities can be found dedicated to some gods, but they are rare. After the rise of Empire the worship of Grogun the Fierce has increased due to pact made with Julian Ironwill and the god of war. Officially Grogun is only god allowed to be worshipped in Virghan Empire, but there is not much oversight for this.

    Foreign Relations

Earlier nobody was really interested in the Virghan and its citizens, but the rise of the Empire has caught the interest of city-states of Marghuin as well as the Darksbane corporation. The city-state consider Virghan as a great threat, an corporation sees opportunity for trade with the rise of new powerfull empire.

    Agriculture & Industry

The lands of Virghan is barren in both natural riches and possibility of agriculture. In some places a crop can be cultivated, but results are poor. Lightstones are found only rarely in the rocks and soil, and other minerals are not found. The most consistent food production can be done in the northern shore where some of the fish from the Isles of Dawn migrate.

    Education

Most of the population of Virghan Empire are members of nomadic tribes with little to no education. New academies are built within new cities, but they are still very primitive compared to great academies in Marghuin or Isles of Dawn.
