"That day the world finally learned the name of Thomon Everwood. Before that he was just a captain in the army of Ganado, although his accomplishes were notified in the city-state. He brought is troops into the middle of bloody and lost battle, and only with his sheer power of will and tenacity was he able to lead his troops to safety and crush the charging horde of monsters."

The Conflict
Prelude
A large troop of soldiers from Ganado where surrounded in a valley close to important mine north of Ganado. The troops had been investigating the silence of the mine, but were ambushed by hordes led by dragon Hsartiakh. The soldiers managed to withdraw inside the mine, but the horde was close in their tails, and surrounded them with noway out of the mines. One scout managed to evade capture, and quickly he escaped the area in hopes of bringing reinforcements. After two days of travel the scout finally managed to meet with troop commanded by Thomon Everwood, then a captain in Ganado's army. The scout told Everwood the situation how thousands of orcs and goblins where surrounding their troops.
Despite the rising snowstorm or lack of troops, Everwood and his troops deployed quickly to help the trapped soldiers. They knew that they were outnumbered three to one even if the trapped soldiers could participate in the fight.
The battle took place in the areas surrounding and inside the mines of Alabaster Field. The horde had sealed all the escape routes from the mine, and were burning bonfires in front of the main entrance in order to smoke the escaped soldiers out or to suffocate them inside. Strong snowstorm raged during the whole fight.
Everwood and his troops charged the enemy lines from behind in the protection of the storm, and managed to break trough to the very main entrance of the mine destroying the bonfires, before the enemy realized that reinforcements had arrived. There they took their stand while some of them entered the mine to find the trapped soldiers. Everwood and his troops kept their position for almost an hour ensuring that their allies were escorted out of the mines. The trapped soldiers were starving and tired, and Everwood sent most of his troops to guide them to safety while the storm lasted. He himself took couple of his most trusted companions and soldiers, and charged forward in order to provide distraction for those who were escaping. In the end he and his comrades managed to slay Hsartiakh. The fall of the dragon drove fear to the horde and it scattered in terror.
The hordes of the mountains surrounding Ganado where silent for sometime after losing one of their main leaders.
This battle finally established the worldwide fame of Thomon Everwood as one of the greatest leaders and soldiers of Evernight.
