The Elfin Plains
The Elfin Plains is a vast steppe so named for the Langites that used to live there. It used to be an ancient forest, but was completely deforested immediately following The Sylvan War. The entirety of the Plains is taken up by Evermore Proper, the capital province of The Empire.
Geography
The Plains are mostly flat but home to some ranges of rolling hills. It is the only region of the continent to be completely devoid of mountains, and surrounds Loch Fathach as well as having a few tributary rivers. From the highest point, where the city of Triumph is located, one can see the grasses and flowers for miles around.
Localized Phenomena
A high concentration of naturally occurring bronze defines the ground of the Plains. Lighting storms occur with clockwork regularity over these areas, often causing natural wildfires. Visitors to the Plains describe "vast patches of blackness and death, surrounded by settlements and yet completely devoid of life themselves".
Fauna & Flora
The Elfin Plains are home to vast herds of hoofed animals like bison and aurochs, as well as the predators that hunt them in the cover of tall grasses. Lions, wolves, bears, and arcane beasts alike stalk the plains, as dangerous to it's mortal residents as they are to their natural prey. The only plantlife are varieties of grasses and short, resilient bushes, several of which produce edible berries.
