The Circle of Death: Dark Waters

General Summary

Party journeys for many days until they are out of the Confederacy and back into the Empire, specifically the River Kingdoms. Parting ways with their Embereki guides, the gang continued on towards Devil's Gate. They encountered a dead wizard that had been killed by something big and poisonous. In said wizard's possession was a clearly evil book, with an eye and the skin cover and everything. Naturally, they opened the Catenanomicon and were pulled into the first circle of hell, specifically the cosmic prison of the pain god Attinae. After a lot of debate, the party decided not to unleash the living apocalypse upon reality and instead were forced to keep the cursed book in their possession, with the knowledge and temptation that anything they want is but one bad deal away. Anyway, one painful return to the mortal realm later, they found Devil's Gate under attack by giant scorpions. The gang kicked ass, and finally ran into the spellcasters protecting the city...
