Sorcerer's Sickness

The mutability of humankind has led to them being more prone than the other mortal races to developing wondrous powers, and this proclivity for sorcery occasionally manifests in teenage humans as the magical affliction commonly called Sorcerer's Sickness. The disease can affect any human who has magical blood, whether or not they develop into full sorcerers. It tends to last anywhere from a few days to a month depending on the strength of latent magical influences. Symptoms are difficult to define, as it tends to manifest differently depending on the bloodline source. Sorcerer's sickness is defined by any number of symptoms being accompanied by random magical phenomena, such as sneezes conjuring creatures from beyond or a fever accompanied by levitation. One notable case combined uncontrollable teleportation while vomiting. There is no cure for the sickness, but it is almost never fatal to the sufferer, though casualties do tend to happen when a belch can make your house explode. The Order of the Eye keeps special wards in most of it's guildhalls to quarantine sufferers until they can be sure the illness is passed.
