Legacy of War Session 3: Ogres and Oubliettes

And Now: A Festival

Our heroes awoke to the sounds of a city preparing for celebration, millions of souls up early and milling about. The smell of delicious deep fried festival foods filled the air, and Chuffy decided to gorge himself on deep fried chocolate sandwich biscuits until he spewed. Then, they arranged themselves as they liked and watched the opening parade. A magnificent procession of fireworks and acrobats, soldiers and jesters, the nobility and fireworks. The party busied themselves catching some of the free money that was being thrown around, and then decided to participate in the week of games, prizes, and marvels as early in the morning, millions of souls began to get rip roaring drunk. 
First, the Surprise Box hosted by the Silver Strings. Each man bravely stuck his hand into a substance not entirely unlike Nickelodeon Gak and withdrew a magically generated prize- or punishment. Nodi gained the inability to blink, Chuffy was briefly possessed by a god of chaos, and Kentaro got bitten by a spider AND a tree feather token. Not bad. 
Then they went bobbing for apples in a booth sponsored by Gnomes Inc. Some apples were poisoned, others were healing potions, but the entire thing was in a mechanical river full of wine. 
Then they fought an Ogre in a temporary arena. Highlights include Chuffy bobbing and weaving like a legend and Kentaro scoring the critical hit of the gods. Afterwards, they were treated to a victor's luncheon with the enigmatic Lady Jael- who figured out who they were almost immediately, and kept asking where "it" was. They gave her nothing, but did befriend her captive ogre. 
There was a drinking contest each man was eliminated from, a slam poetry competition, and a rabid bull rodeo that Chuffy slayed. 
We ended the session on a Black Hole- they woke up the next day in the city's palace...
